Bill’s Run used to be called Sidewinder.
The blue tower jib in Junction Park is the actual tower 16 from one of the original Powderhorn lifts installed in 1966.
Powderhorn employs about 250 people in the winter season.
There are bear dens near Redeye and Cannonball.
Whistle Pig is another name for Marmots who roam the base area in the summer… and often get inside the lodge.
Powderhorn has its own water plant that purifies water directly from mountain springs.
The Grand Mesa was referred to as Thunder Mountain by native Indian tribes.
Cow Camp is named after an actual old cow camp in that area. An old cabin structure sits on the side of that run but is only visible in the summer
